Q:  What are the tags?

A:  Tags have been added to make the blog directory more accessible.  If you are looking for a specific type of blog, such as bridal jewellery blogs you can select the ‘bridal jewellery’ tag and all blogs that feature bridal jewellery will be displayed.

Q:  Why are some blogs featured and not others?

A:  Blogs that are featured have met a number of simple requirements.  Any blog in the directory can be featured for free and if you are the blog owner and would like your blog to become featured please see the Blog Owners section below for more details.

Q:  Why are some blogs in the directory missing pictures for their posts?

A:  Whenever they are available, thumbnails of the pictures used within a given blog post are displayed.  If no picture is shown, then there is either none used in the post, some technical reason we are unable to display it, or the blog author has asked that we do not display images from their blog.

Q:  I think a blog is in the wrong category, how do I suggest it be moved?

A: Feel free to contact me with the details and why you think it is incorrectly categorised.

Q:  Why do some blogs have a written review by Lindsay and not others?

A: When the blog directory first launched I wrote a review for all Featured blogs included in the directory.  Due to time constraints and the popularity of the blog directory, I decided this was no longer viable.

Blog Owners

Q:  What are the different listing types?

A:  Every blog entered into my blog directory gets its own page, tags and descriptions.  The three listing types appear differently on the category and tag pages as follows:

  • Featured blogs are shown on the home page and at the top of listing pages, with each blog being featured for a day in turn and being highlighted wherever a Featured blog is displayed, providing the highest amount of exposure.
  • Standard blogs appear beneath Featured listings with a full width entry.

Q:  How do I get my blog promoted to a Featured listing?

A:  To be eligible for a Featured listing simply link to the Dream Wedding Directory website using these text or graphic link resources and contact me to let me know where the link is located.

Q:  How much does it cost to be listed in your blog directory?

A:  Being listed in my blog directory is completely free!

Q:  Can I submit my Wedding blog?

A:  Yes, please see more details about the blog requirements in the Submission section below.

Blog Submission

Q:  How do I submit my blog?

A:  Please use the blog submission form and complete as many details as you can.  The more information provided, the sooner I can add it to the directory.

Q:  What kind of blog can be submitted?

A:  Blogs must be about weddings, wedding services or products and be based in the UK.  I do not accept personal wedding blogs.

  • Blogs must have at least 10 wedding related posts.
  • Blog posts must not be overly self promotional.
  • Blogs must be useful to couples planning their wedding, even if they do not wish to use your services.
  • Blogs must have an RSS feed.  This is what enables updates to appear in the directory and encourages readers to visit your site.
  • Blogs must not contain any offensive material or content taken from other sites without attribution.

Q:  I submitted a blog, how long before it appears in the directory?

A:  I have a long list of blogs to be added to my site, so it can take a while for me to catch up.  Featured blogs are added within 5 working days, but usually within 2 days.  Standard blogs are added when time permits, which may be up to 3 weeks.

Please keep in mind that the more details supplied in the submission form, the easier it is for me to add a blog.  If you submit a blog, it is fine to confirm that I received the details, but please do not keep emailing me to know when it will be listed.

Q:  I submitted my blog, why has it not been added?

A:  Once a blog submission is received, I send out a verification email (within 2 working days) to the email address supplied.  If I do not receive a response to this email, the submitted blog will not be added to my directory.

Please contact me if you did not receive this verification email.
